Silk Painting Workshop When you Want It
Get four or more friends together for a workshop you won’t forget.
These one or two-day, color-rich classes will provide students with the basic knowledge of silk painting. Learn about Jacquard artist-grade dyes, types of resists, the use of texture, how to select the right brushes, and methods for stretching silk. This small, informal class will include hands-on instruction. Students will make two scarves each week. All Silk Scarves will be used. Methods will include:
Week 1: Watercolor – Loose, colorful and easy, and Shibori- Japanese pole wrapping
Week 2: Soy wax resist, – A little more control, and a Compression Resist method.
At the end of the classes the instructor will take the scarves home to steam, wash, and iron them to have ready for students to pick-up the following week.
$50 for one class $100 for two-week class per student.
Class size limited to 8 students (mimimum 4 students.) Sue Wierzba at email@example.com, 207-361-4541
